Eritrean president Issaias Afeworki holds a speech to mark a decade of Eritrea’s independence from Ethiopia during the anniversary celebrations attended by a 13,000-strong crowd 24 May 2003, at Asmara main square. Afeworki said his country was committed to peace and security but accused Ethiopia of seeking to sabotage a decision by an international commission on defining the border which awarded a disputed frontier village to Eritrea.
